Code Of Conduct For Online Learning And Safety
Canaan Global Academy (CGA) has an important goal: to help each student maximize his or her potential and meet the highest performance standards through virtual and online learning. To help students and teachers be successful, a Code of Conduct for Online Learning and Safety is provided, outlining key expectations and guidelines for users of the CGA online learning system:
Canaan Global Academy (CGA) aims to help every student reach their potential through virtual learning. All members of the school community must:
- Demonstrate honesty and integrity
- Respect differences in people, ideas, and opinions
- Treat one another with dignity, even in disagreement
- Respect others’ rights and authority
- Maintain a courteous, respectful online environment
Students must:
- Respect online systems, networks, and copyright laws
- Protect personal information and privacy
- Participate actively and responsibly in learning
- Follow teacher and staff directions
- Complete assignments thoroughly and on time
All CGA curriculum and e-textbooks are copyrighted. Downloading, copying, or modifying content without written consent is prohibited. Unauthorized use of copyrighted materials in coursework is considered infringement.
Members of the school community must not:
- Bully, threaten, or intimidate others
- Engage in hate-motivated or aggressive behaviour
- Damage school property or servers
- Misrepresent identity or use another’s login credentials
Students must not:
- Share login credentials
- Upload malicious files or viruses
- Reproduce course content without permission
- Use offensive or hostile language online
- Collaborate dishonestly or cheat during assessments
Plagiarism is a serious academic offense. Examples include:
- Submitting someone else’s work as your own
- Copying words or ideas without credit
- Failing to use quotation marks or proper citations Teachers may use plagiarism-checking tools to ensure originality.
Users must not:
- Install unauthorized software or games
- Damage or tamper with equipment or files
- Hack, access records, or breach security
- Copy or transfer CGA materials without permission
- Use copyrighted works without authorization
Violations may result in disciplinary action, suspension, or expulsion. CGA may revoke login privileges or involve legal authorities for serious misconduct. The academy provides no warranties for online services or resources.
Canaan Global Learning Model

In light of COVID-19, CGA starts an online learning platform to support student learning since March 2020. We are committed
to providing a flexible and professional learning experience to our students from all over the world by taking advantage of the latest online learning platform. In March 2020, CGA starts using Microsoft Teams and NeoLMS to support student learning and organize course materials and activities.
- CGA launched online learning in March 2020 using Microsoft Teams and NeoLMS.
- Goal: provide flexible, professional learning worldwide.
Microsoft Teams
- Available on desktop, web, and mobile.
- Requires active internet connection (no offline mode).
- Web client supports calling/meetings via WebRTC.
NeoLMS
- Supports current and previous releases of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.
- Drops support for older versions after new releases.
Other Requirements
- Some courses may need a camera, microphone, or speakers.
Student Attendance
- Students expected to complete 110-hour courses in 8–9 weeks.
- Must log in at least 3 times per week, ~15 active hours.
- Active learning includes quizzes, discussions, exercises.
- Learning Log required every 2 weeks.
- Must join synchronous (real-time) classes.
Follow-Up Policy
- Reminders sent if login hours are insufficient.
- Parents notified after 3 consecutive failures.
- Repeated failures delay course completion.
Absence Definition
- Not joining real-time class.
- Logging in with no camera presence.
- Logging in with camera/mic off.
- Students must provide 2 photo IDs at registration.
- ID must be current, show full name and photo.
- Students receive a unique ID number and password.
- Security questions used for verification.
- Exams require in-person invigilation at exam centres.
Student Attendance
- Students expected to complete 110-hour courses in 8–9 weeks.
- Must log in at least 3 times per week, ~15 active hours.
- Active learning includes quizzes, discussions, exercises.
- Learning Log required every 2 weeks.
- Must join synchronous (real-time) classes.

- Requirements: stable internet, laptop/desktop with camera, electricity.
- Process:
- Before Exam: submit consent forms, upload exam items, briefing sessions, mock exams if needed.
- During Exam: attendance taken, students monitored, communication via set platform.
- After Exam: confirm submissions, no appeals for incorrect/incomplete files.
